Participation is crucial in humanitarian or development intervention. In displacement situations, direct engagement of decision-makers with displaced persons has even been found to be a key driver to better understand which solutions they may prefer, and thus plan accordingly. Yet, achieving meaningful participation in practice remains a challenge. Commissioned by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and authored by HERE-Geneva, this report aims to provide concrete, realistic, and operational suggestions on what it takes to ensure the inclusion, participation, and agency of displacement-affected people.

JIPS contributed its expertise as key informant, and the profiling examples from Kosovo and Myanmar served as use cases.
